Confusion Or Peace

Satan is the author of confusion and he causes it through doubt and sin.

Strong*s definitions of confusion: instability, disorder, commotion, confusion and tumult.

Strong*s definitions of peace: prosperity, peace, quietness, rest or set at one again.

Confusion and peace are the opposites in the passage. Which one defines you, your attitude and your life, confusion or peace?

Ezra 9:7: Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

The Old Testament word for confusion means shame as well as confusion.

Knowing God personally and intimately brings grace and peace. We cannot know Him personally and intimately until and unless He is living in our hearts. One of His names is the God of Peace, Jehovah Shalom. The first thing many individuals became aware of after receiving Jesus was peace. One woman got a satisfied look and said simply: Such peace! A gentleman said Inner Peace. I personally felt a calm that I had never felt before. Both believers and unbelievers have sometimes commented that there was a peace or a calm about me that was not there before. I have noticed great peace and calm in the Biblical churches that I have attended and in the believers in them. Those things were missing in unbiblical churches I have attended.

Peace is described in two important ways in the Bible: peace with God and the peace of God. As accurately as I can recall it, my friend and mentor, Horst Adler, taught that peace with God is a legal and contractual peace. That kind of peace is necessary to have a relationship with Him and to get to Heaven. The peace of God is the kind of peace that we can sometimes feel, when we have Jehovah Shalom in our hearts and lives. Peace with God comes first and is more important. If we are not at peace with God we won*t have the peace of God.

Romans 5:1: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

Philippians 4:4-7: Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
